Music Therapy (MT) is an international profession with a code of ethics, research base, and education and clnical training programmes. The minimum training requirement for music therapists (US) is a 4 year Bachelor's level degree and a six-month clinical internship. There are Masters and Doctoral level programs, and a research base that is building. In the United States, a certifying board ensures a competency level of practice, and requires 100 continuing education credits over five year cycles.
